[wxPython] Bug with wxStatusBar ?

Zaharkin, Mike
Hello,

        I am using the latest/greatest version of wxPython and noticed a
peculiar behavior with wxStatusBar.

        I am creating a dialog (wxDialog) and attach the wxStatusBar to it.
Based on the actions of the dialog, I update the status bar.

        Here is the code snippet for the creation of the dialog and the
status bar.

           win = wxDialog(parent, -1, "Construct Rule", wxDefaultPosition,
wxSize(550, 610))
           self.statusBar = wxStatusBar(win, -1, wxDefaultPosition)

        The problem is that when I open the dialog and repeat the same exact
actions, the status bar only updates sometimes. Other times it does not
update at all (it stays blank).

        There doesn't seem to be any pattern for recreating this, and I was
wondering if this was a known issue or a problem with the wxStatusBar being
attached to a wxDialog instead of a wxFrame.

        Thanks in advance.

Regards,
-Mike Z.

Could you send a full sample please?

The wxMSW guy has some ideas and thinks it is fixable but isn't yet sure
exactly what the problem is.
